Babu Santa Minwall Dive Site in Davao - Philippines

Mansud or Mansoud Wall is another name for Babu Santa Minwall Dive Site. It is just off the shores of Talikud Island at its west side. This is a very ideal place for diving, especially at night, and especially when we catch a good view of its huge rocky wall and astonishing coral formation about it.

Talicud Island is a haven for lots of pristine dive sites, and so does its mother island, Samal, which is directly in front of it. Talicud is a smaller island southwest of Samal. Samal itself boasts about more than double the dive sites Talicud has. Here, we see the clan that Babu Santa Minwall Dive Site is a part ofall world class and immaculate.

The site is just an hour and half from Talicud. All the way we enjoy calm waters around the area. At the site itself, the water current (surface and underwater) around the Babu Santa Minwall Dive Site is also unruffled, with a few sporadic rush of current now and then. To get good views of the wall and its environs we dive at 60 feet. The site is recommended for all divers, novice and advanced, with their instructors.

At 60 feet or roughly 20 meters we see the rocky walls and fascinating coral formations, some jutting out of the walls. There are more to see at a depth of 30 meters. We see a clear visual of the cove naturally carved and the exciting scenes underneath. There are corals all over the shallow portion of the wall. But a must-see part of Babu Santa Minwall Dive Site is the rich and gorgeous tunicates jutting from it.

At 40 meters, parrot fish begin to show themselves. A dive is very revealing when done at night. More deep sea creatures roam around, like swarms of tropical fish. The drop off at Babu Santa Minwall Dive Site is really 45 meters. We see sights here similar to spots near the area. Common things to see are large sponges, whip corals, gorgonians, soft corals, and fish types like lion fish, sea snakes, razor fish, and juvenile sweet-lips proliferating in the area.

Nearby dive spots are Dapia, Angels Cove, and Coral Garden. Off the northwest part of Talicud, these spots, along with Babu Santa Minwall Dive Site, are visited by whale sharks, dugong, and turtles from time to time. If we dive deep enough and look hard enough the deep sea features of this site can do so much to quench our dive curiosity.
