This is the favorite shopping area by many tourists. In fact, this is quite known to tourists for the take home products that are found in this establishment. It is actually found at the juncture of the busiest streets in Davao City, the Claro M Recto Street and the Manuel Roxas Avenues.

Aldevinco Shopping Center History

This shopping center is actually fairly old. It first opened its doors to the public on January 2, 1965. It was at that time riding on the commercial progress of Davao City. Two years before the inauguration of Aldevinco Shopping Center, Conrado Alcantara and his wife saw the vacant lot along Claro M Recto (then Claveria Avenue). They figured that the area was perfect for a commercial establishment. The spouses then invited Architect Roman Solitaria to design a building which turned out to be the first shopping complex in Davao City. Back then, it was not known as Aldevinco Shopping Center. It was simply known as Aldevinco. After 43 years of existence, it has become one of the landmarks of the city.

Indeed, Aldevinco Shopping Center has made a nice niche for itself in the city of Davao. It is generally promoted and known for being the citys ultimate source of ethnic, native and antique products. In fact, it could probably boast to be the only shopping center that offers the products that Davao is truly proud of.
